Paul Wylam gets defense verdict in podiatric malpractice trial

Paul J. Wylam, Esquire, recently concluded the successful representation of his client, a podiatric surgeon in an alleged medical malpractice case which concluded in a defense verdict on August 24, 2005. The litigation stemmed from the placement of a kinetikos great toe implant to address Plaintiff’s hallux limitus. The Plaintiff alleged that the total joint replacement was unwarranted and further alleged that it was improperly placed. The Plaintiff presented expert testimony from Dr. Keith Wapner, an orthopedic surgeon out of Philadelphia. In support of the care rendered by Dr. Bernstein, the defense presented two podiatric surgeons, Dr. Harold Schoenhaus and Dr. Alan Mlodzienski, as experts. The trial was held before the Honorable Thomas F. Burke, in the Court of Common Pleas, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania.
