Amy Shwed obtains a Defense Verdict for Dermatologist in Arbitration
Attorney Shwed represented a Board Certified dermatologist in a case where the Plaintiff filed a Complaint in Luzerne County alleging a failure to timely diagnose her scabies infestation. She claimed that this alleged failure caused her permanent disfigurement and to have to undergo extensive additional medical treatment at Hershey Medical Center. Plaintiff requested damages for these additional medical expenses, pain and suffering, and emotional distress. A panel of three arbitrators unanimously found in favor of the doctor, finding no medical malpractice and rendered a defense verdict.
