Amy Shwed garners defense verdict at trial for Scranton orthopedic surgeon.
Amy Shwed successfully defended an orthopod against allegations that he severed the sural nerve during a ganglion cyst removal, which led to a diagnosis of RSD. Attorney Shwed presented evidence that the plaintiff's RSD could have been caused by numerous sprains and strains or injections that were part of her medical treatment. The jury agreed and rendered its verdict in favor of the orthopod, finding that the doctor’s treatment met the standard of care.
